What this test measures
Small tissue specimens (punch / pinch / core / shave biopsies) processed through standard histopathology workflow — fixation in 10% formalin, paraffin embedding, sectioning, H&E ± IHC, microscopic examination by a pathologist.
Why it matters
Same indications as Histopath (Small) — skin biopsy, endoscopic mucosal biopsy, image-guided core biopsy of breast / prostate / liver / kidney. The various rate-card names reflect billing conventions, not different tests.
How to prepare
Procedure-specific — local anaesthetic for skin / image-guided core; sedation for endoscopic. Disclose anticoagulation and allergies.
